We Vibe II – Review

When Good Vibes, an amazing sex shop, sent me the oft praised We Vibe II to review, I got really lucky. This couples vibrator is frequently proclaimed to be a sex life altering gadget, providing countless nights of soaked sheets and satisfied partners, male and female alike.

Sounded like a guaranteed good time, as far as I was concerned. The only problem is, I did not fall in love with this toy. I tried it in several different capacities, and each time produced very disappointing results.

When I first received the We Vibe II, beautifully packaged and complete with detailed instructions, I could tell this was far from cheaply made junk. However, when I turned it on (after 24 hours of charging) and began cycling through the nine different vibration intensities and patterns, I was a bit let down at how mediocre the strength was, even at the highest level.

For my first test run, I decided to use it solo. I turned it on first, as suggested by the packaging, and chose my strength and pattern (High, no pattern) before sliding it in. It went into place no problem, with one end resting on my g-spot, the other snuggling up to my clit. I found it to be stimulating, but not really anything more than a tease. It certainly wasn’t enough to get off. After 20 minutes of just testing it this way, I turned it off, unsatisfied.

That evening, I decided to try it with my partner. After some foreplay, I turned it on and slid it into place. At first, I was having a good time. Every thrust he gave nudged the internal portion of the vibrator into my g-spot. The vibrator remained in place well and did not inhibit my partner from properly entering my body. We stayed in the missionary position most of the time, as the pressure his weight put on the vibe seemed to help the dull vibrations a bit by pressing them onto my body harder. However, in the 10 minutes it took me to climax, the g-spot stimulator had increasingly become more of a “dig” sensation than a rub. It was subtle at first, but by the time we finished, my vagina was genuinely sore. My partner said that he enjoyed the sensation the entire time, but that it might be more stimulating to him if we tried doggy style next time.

The next time my partner and I tried it, we tried it doggy style, as discussed. And for him, it was very stimulating. It hit his frenulum perfectly and he had trouble not cumming right away. For me, not so much. Again, I felt the digging sensation, but this time, I also felt like the strip between the internal and external stimulators kept slamming into my pubic bone. I asked my partner to go a little easier and it didn’t help at all….it just felt awkward and painful and we did not finish with the We Vibe.

I tried it a final time by myself, once again. This time, I turned it on and put it in place and tried to use a dildo along with it. That was an epic fail and I felt the same digging pain/lackluster vibrations as I had with my partner. Le sigh.
I wanted to like the We Vibe II. Hell, I wanted to love it and praise it up and down like basically everyone else on the planet does. But, despite the nice quality of the toy, it just didn’t do it for me.

Let’s talk some details, shall we?
The We Vibe II is made of 100% medical grade silicone, which means it’s phthalate free, hypoallergenic, and sterilizable, only by way of bleach solution – never boil or dishwash the We Vibe as it could destroy the inner controls. And remember, silicone toy means water based lube only.

The We Vibe is waterproof and contains a rechargeable battery that comes with a cord for charging. Charging is complete after 24 hours, but there is not any kind of indicator light that goes on or off when charging is complete. It really doesn’t matter, because the We Vibe can stay plugged in without it harming the toy. During the testing phase, I kept mine plugged in all the time, unless I was using it.

Thanks to Good Vibes for sending me this toy to review and also for stuffing the box full of goodies like these for no good reason! If you want to try the We Vibe II for yourself, or check out some of my other faves, please do!

The We-Vibe II hurt me with just a finger in my vagina, I was too wimpy to try anything bigger. I think the outer silicone is just not cushy enough. It certainly didn’t work for me in any way.
